Planny
Cookie Policy
Transparency about cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on Planny.
Last updated: April 1, 2026
What this policy covers
This policy explains how Planny uses cookies and similar technologies (including browser storage) when you visit our website or use our app. We group them by purpose so you can see what is essential versus optional.
1. Authentication (Essential)
To keep you logged in, we use secure HTTP-only cookies that store your session.
These cookies allow your browser to send a session token with each request so you don't need to log in again on every page.
If you sign out or your session expires, you will be logged out automatically.
Disabling cookies may prevent login and authentication from working properly.
2. User Preferences (Optional)
We store certain preferences in your browser to improve your experience.
- Theme (light / dark / system): Your selected theme is stored locally in your browser so your preference is remembered across visits.
- Currency selection: Your chosen display currency is stored locally so amounts are shown consistently.
- Layout settings (such as sidebar state): Some interface preferences may be stored locally to keep the layout consistent when you return.
These settings are stored in your browser and are not shared with third parties. They are used only to improve usability and personalize your experience.
3. Analytics (if enabled)
Current status: We do not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts by default in the product codebase described at the time of this policy. If we add analytics (for example to understand aggregate traffic or feature usage), we will use cookies or similar identifiers only as described in an updated policy and, where required, with your consent.
Typical analytics cookies help with:
- Measuring page views and sessions
- Understanding how features are used so we can improve the product
Services like Google Analytics, when used, may set cookies to distinguish sessions and users. We would document that clearly before turning them on.
4. Advertising (e.g. Google AdSense)
Current status: If we do not display third-party ads, ad-related cookies are not used. If we enable platforms such as Google AdSense in the future, those partners typically require cookies to:
- Deliver and measure ads
- Limit how often you see the same ad
- Support ad personalization and conversion measurement where applicable
Google and similar vendors publish their own disclosures; their use of cookies for ads is largely not optional if you choose to monetize with those networks. We would update this policy and, where required, provide consent tools before enabling personalized ads.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings (block, delete, or alert). Blocking essential authentication cookies will break sign-in. Blocking storage may reset theme or currency preferences on each visit.
Updates
We will revise this page when our practices change. See the "Last updated" date at the top.
